The leather Gaston Mercier does not suffer any defect.
From the cut of the leather to the assembly of the elements, our team works with a precision of goldsmith and a faultless qualitative requirement. You must know that the leather of a saddle Gaston Mercier does not suffer any defect: not the slightest scratch, not the shadow of an alteration. Our employees make a drastic selection of leathers so that your saddle is a product of excellence.
They approach each saddle as a unique object that they will complete, for example, by a border of color, a neat finish.
We have enshrined sustainable development in our DNA by making commitments in the choice of our leathers
Aveyron is a country of breeding. Focusing on short circuits, the leathers we use come mainly from local cattle farms and from local and French tanneries.
Paying great attention to the manufacturing processes. Our main supplier is in the “Eco design” approach, in order to reduce the environmental impact of leather making.
Thus, the tanning processes give the leather, its most beautiful appearance, flexibility and unequaled resistance to bad weather and friction.
All our products are made of leather “Full Flower”
Full grain leather is the best of leather. The flower is the structure of the dermis where are implanted the hairs, so the top of the skin. This is the densest part of the skin. The full-grain leather is by logic the one that, once tanned, has not undergone any other alteration. It is therefore used throughout its thickness and exposed on the flower side.
This is the most noble treatment that can be applied to a skin.
